Jason Cowan

Jason Cowan is the Director of Business Services for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), having served the department in numerous IT leadership roles over his 15 years of service. With over 20 years of experience in the public sector, managing and optimizing enterprise technology solutions, he excels in aligning IT operations and organizational goals, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance. Jason has successfully managed numerous end-to-end implementations of ServiceNow solutions and is the first agency in the state to move to Generative AI.

Jason served for 25 years in the Air National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Jason was as a Cyberspace Operations Officer and deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and DEEP FREEZE. His distinguished military career showcases his expertise in cybersecurity and leadership under dynamic and demanding conditions.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jason enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf, attending professional sports events, and experiencing live music at concerts.
